The very first film festival I entered was the PULP 24 Hour Film Festival. We spent $25 but none of it went to production. We completed everything in 12 hours and we only got 3 hours of sleep. We won the award for “Best Film To Watch While Stoned” because we didn’t know how to edit it. The first time we saw it was when the audience saw it. You can view it at aqdpi.com/epk
Now, I’m starting a brand new 24 hour film festival in Florida. It will be at the Corazon Cinema and Cafe. It is in the nation’s oldest city, St. Augustine. Yes, the city is haunted. Here are the details:
Filmmakers are welcomed to write, act, produce, direct and edit a short film in 24 hours.
RULES:
1) Length of film must not exceed 9 minutes and 4 seconds including credits.
2) The elements of location, prop and quotes of film will be announced on June 20, 2020 at 6:30 p.m. All elements must be incorporated into the film, in order to be considered for an award.
3) The process will begin on June 20, 2020 at 6:30 p.m. and the deadline is June 21, 2020 at 6:30 p.m.
4) No previous works may be incorporated into the final submission and everything must be created within the 24-hour period.
5) Teams (cast and crew) can be formed, prior to the film festival.
6) Stock photos and music must be original or have rights obtained to use.
7) Jump drives (a.k.a. thumb drives) is the only format accepted into the festival.
8) The films will be screened on June 27, 2020 and the time is to be determined. Films will be in a block schedule and include intermissions, if necessary.
The submission fee is $20. Those who make the deadline can sell an autographed copy of their film for $20 to make their submission fee back, while at the screening.
Admission to the screening is $10 for the general public. It is $5 for active military members and students.
